I have spent my working life in communications from training at College as a Radio Officer for the Merchant Navy to the present day.

I am currently working on a European funded project looking at provide mobile data and GIS mapping information from beaches to a central management centre. This involves looking at data connectivity using GPRS and temporary Wifi hotspots.

Previously I worked for Mitel Networks in a number of roles.

I worked as design authority responsible for the network configuration for a client updating to voice over IP. This involved proof of concept demonstrations and dialling into systems to confirm configurations. I also work as part of a team responsible for the introduction of new products into the portfolio.

I worked as Pre Sales support to the Outsourced Business Unit, otherwise called Managed Service.

I provided solutions based on the full range of Mitel products plus OEM for voice and data.

Solutions provided included a voice and data network, Mitel voice products and third party data network, providing PIN access to over 20,000 telephony users.

Design a network scheme allowing a customer to move approximately 100 sites between manufacturers and network suppliers.

Redesign8 call centres ranging in size up to 100 + agents using traffic sizing call routing information with the client

A combined voice and data network including a 30-seater call centre based over 6 sites.

My role included providing ‘statement of works’ documentation

As Technical Account Manager to several government agencies and covering areas of voice and data integration.
